Nude man found burned, bound along Calif. freeway dies

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. - A nude man who was discovered burned and bound alongside the northbound 605 Freeway in the City of Industry, Calif. on Tuesday has died, reports CBS Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department, along with the California Highway Patrol, received a call around 2 p.m. Tuesday from a motorist who found the victim near the transition road from the northbound 605 to the 60 Freeway.

Sheriff's detectives said it appeared that the unidentified man managed to drag himself up a steep dirt trail to the side of the roadway.

A preliminary investigation determined that the man had been assaulted prior to being burned, authorities said, according to the station.

The victim, who reportedly suffered burns to his face and body, was transported to County-USC Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead early Wednesday morning.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
