The R&B singer explained in a statement via Way Out West organizers, "Let me start by saying I feel like an [expletive] right now, but a tough decision had to be made in regard to my schedule over the next months and the casualties of that decision include my appearances at upcoming festivals in Europe and my opening slot on the European leg of the Coldplay world tour."

Ocean, who didn't give a concrete reason for bowing out, apologized before adding, "I'll be back if you'll have me."

The scrapped performances include the Flow Festival in Finland, Britain's V Festival, France's Rock En Seine festival and England's Isle of Wight in September.

The Odd Future member performed at the Oya Festival in Norway on Friday night. According to a review on TheMusic.com.au, Ocean showed up 15 minutes late and left the stage after performing only a few songs, blaming vocal issues. The reviewer, though, noted that his set was "shaping up excellently at the time."

Ocean recently earned positive reviews at Chicago's Lollapalooza music festival.
