Boyfriend charged in murder of woman found dead in trash bin
DETROIT -- The boyfriend of a 24-year-old Detroit woman whose body was found in a trash container in December has been charged with her murder, reports CBS Detroit.
Maxwell Brack, 24, was arraigned Saturday a charge of open murder in the death of Kajavia Globe, reports the station. If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of life in prison without parole.
Globe was reported missing by her family Dec. 11, saying no one had heard from her since she left work around noon in her gold 2003 Chevrolet Impala, according to the station. Police released disturbing surveillance video of someone in a skeleton mask using her bank card to withdraw cash at a Detroit ATM.
Her car was reportedly found abandoned three days later just hours before her body was located in a trash bin in the backyard of a home. Police said evidence that a crime was committed was found in Globe's car, but didn't give specifics.
Brack was ordered held without bond and is due back in court for a probable cause conference on Feb. 12.
