"23 Jump Street" in the works
Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill are going back to school.
Sony has comissioned a sequel to their blockbuster comedy "22 Jump Street" -- tentatively titled "23 Jump Street," according to Deadline.
"Grudge Match" screenwriter Rodney Rothman has been hired to pen the script, but it's unclear who will be sitting in the director's chair.
"22 Jump Street" directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller have yet to commit to direct, but they will return as producers, along with Tatum and Hill.
"There's a lot of pitfalls and anxiety and fears in making a sequel," Tatum told CBS News in June. "People think they want the exact same thing -- And then they realize that they don't want it after they see what you've given them."
Audiences didn't seem to feel that way about their most recent outing.
"22 Jump Street" became one of the highest-grossing and best-reviewed comedies of this summer, earning almost $320 million worldwide in its last three months of release -- against a $50 million budget.
