Fla. teen killed by cops during domestic dispute

(CBS) MIRAMAR, Fla. - A Florida teen who was shot by police during a domestic violence dispute has died, reports CBS Miami.

Miramar police say 17-year-old Corey Nesbitt was pronounced dead Saturday after he was taken to the hospital Friday following the shooting.

Man arrested after cooking own meal at Denny's

(CBS/WISC-TV) MADISON, Wis. - Police say a Wisconsin man claiming to be the new manager of a Denny's was arrested after he cooked himself a cheeseburger and fries at the Madison restaurant Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities say 52-year-old James Summers wore a tie and carried a briefcase, claiming he was sent by Denny's corporate office Tuesday to be the new manager. When the current manager told him he must be mistaken, Summers told he she must not have received the memo about the employment change.

(CBS/AP) KENNESAW, Ga. - A bus driver who was stabbed in the face with a pen while trying to resolve a dispute with a passenger has been suspended, a county spokesperson said.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Cobb County spokeswoman AikWah Leow said the driver, Damian Haney, 39, was suspended with pay for not following protocol during the altercation that led to his Monday afternoon stabbing.

Juror going to jail for "friending" defendant

The Sarasota Herald-Tribune reports Judge Nancy Donnellan sentenced Jacob Jock, 29, on Thursday, after finding him guilty of contempt of court.

(CBS/WIVB/AP) NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. - A New York state senator and his wife said Saturday they were attacked and beaten at a Niagara Falls casino while trying to break up an argument.

CBS affiliate WIVB reports Sen. Mark Grisanti and his wife are recovering after being punched and beaten during the Friday night altercation. Maria Grisanti told the station, "I thought I was going to die."

"Piggyback Bandit" pleads guilty to assault

(CBS) HELENA, Mont. - A man given the nickname "Piggyback Bandit" for his fondness for hopping on the backs of athletes pleaded guilty to two assault charges Wednesday.

The Independent Record reports that 250-pound Sherwin Shayegan, 28, admitted to jumping on the backs of two players at a Montana high school soccer tournament in October.
