The moment Ann Romney was diagnosed with MS
Ann and Mitt talk candidly about her multiple sclerosis and how it changed their lives
Editor's Note: Ann Romney makes the biggest speech of her life tonight at the RNC. In 2007, she and Mitt sat down with Mike Wallace to talk family, the dark side of campaigns, and her battle with multiple sclerosis.

- I think that your post is thoughtful and fair. Just one more point, is that Ann Romney was probably never concerned about whether she could afford or access health care. For millions of Americans, that is a paramount issue. With a catastrophic diagnosis, the lack of healthcare is bankrupting families and preventing them from getting services. As someone like Ann Romney who has a chronic and often debilitating disease, she could be a great advocate for the poor and disenfranchised. But she is not and to me that is squandering a beautiful opportunity.

- I like what Ann Romney said about Mitt when she was diagnosed with MS. That rings true and is touching. I'm sure he loves his wife. It's obvious. They've been married for many, many years without so much as a single smirch on his faithfulness to her. He's committed to her for sure. Some of the other things said, like the cereal comment, he may have said that, but obviously it's said here for effect. because as you said jmpw1, they probably have not one but several personal chefs and cooks. With all those kids and grandkids, I don't think anyone would believe for half a second that Ann cooks for them all. LOL. Can't you just see that? It would be like me making Thanksgiving dinner every day. What a nightmare. Anyway, Mitt may well be a loving family man, and that's fine, that's good and that's great - for his family. His ideas for America, however, are a nightmare for the 99 percent of us who aren't multi-millionaires. He wants to allow those at the top to continue to reap gazillions of dollars while leaving scraps for the rest of us. He wants to make abortion impossible to get and even stop women from using birth control. He doesn't believe women should make equal pay for equal work. If we don't have birth control we won't need equal pay because we won't be able to work! For these things alone - and there are many more reasons - we should say "No, thanks, Mitt!"

- Mitt Romney knows how to turn this economy around and that is why he is running for president--because he can't just sit back and watch what is happening without doing something. Yes, the Obama machine is formidable for a host of (not so nice) reasons. A lot of Republican hopefuls would not make the run in 2012, but Mitt stepped up, and I think the reason why is because we need him, and he knows it. The idea that he wants to get into the White House to make money is ludicrous; he has more than enough money for himself and his family. What a video like this shows is that he is a helluva human being.

- Why would Mitt eat cereal. He must have a personal chef...

- Put simply and succinctly Ann Romney grew up a child of privilege who married a wealthy man who also was a child of privilege. Neither of them have had to worry about paying bills or having enough food to eat. They don't really have much of anything in common with the vast majority of us.

- Ann Romney and Mr. Romney are trying to get America to vote for them by telling us
bunch of SAD histories about their life but thats not going to work because America knows better and we are not going to listen to that BS.
Romney wants to get to the White House just to put more money in his pocket and in the pocket of the companies that are helping him to get there like Walmart and Mr Tromp to mention just few, all this people are not helping our economy, they are helping themselves and investing their money in factories overseas to bring that bad quality merchandise and sale it here to us. that is not the way to create jobs here in America, we need to bring those factories back to our soil and hire American citizens.
SORRY Mr. Romney but you are not winning this Presidential Election. G.F.Ur.Slf - Reply to this comment
