Mild, clear week ahead in North Texas
We started our Monday morning off with a low of 63° at DFW, which marks our coolest morning since mid-May.
That was followed by highs in the lower 80s for the metroplex, keeping us nearly 10° below normal for this point in the year.
By Tuesday, we're looking at another calm and cool start to the day, with lows in the upper 50s and lower 60s.
We will be a bit warmer by the afternoon, with highs back into the upper 80s. Still a few degrees below average.
Highs will continue to steadily warm through the workweek, as a ridge of high pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere works to build over the southern plains.
Expect highs in the lower 90s by midweek, then warming to the middle 90s by the end of the week.
Due to high-pressure ridging, we're looking at a dry extended period, with abundant sunshine.
The one downside for us is the pollen count, which is high across North Texas. Ragweed, chenopods and elm are the predominant pollens for the region.
