North Texas weather to stay above average this week despite chilly mornings

North Texas warms into the mid-60s before midweek cooldown and windy conditions

Above-average temperatures and dry conditions are expected to continue across North Texas this week, with no weather alerts currently in effect.

After a chilly start Monday morning, when temperatures dipped into the 30s across the region, readings rebounded quickly. By the afternoon, highs climbed into the 60s, making it another warmer-than-normal day. So far this year, North Texas has experienced only one day with below-average temperatures, and the forecast suggests that trend will continue through at least the next week.

Temperatures will begin to fall again after sunset at 5:41 p.m., though overnight conditions will not be as cold as the previous morning. Increased cloud cover will help trap heat, keeping morning lows mainly in the 40s.

Tuesday is expected to be mild, with afternoon highs in the mid-60s. Skies will be partly sunny, and southwest winds will range from 5 to 10 mph. Most of North Texas will remain dry, though a few showers could develop in southern counties.

Dallas, Fort Worth to be impacted by cold front starting Wednesday

A cold front is set to approach the area on Wednesday, bringing in a cooler and dry air mass. Gusty north winds are expected that day before gradually easing on Thursday.

Another front is forecast to move through on Friday. While forecast models are not yet consistent, there is a chance for rain on Saturday. Forecasters say confidence will improve as models come into better agreement in the days ahead.
