Hot seasonable Sunday on tap for North Texas, with temperatures expected in the 100s this week

Triple digits arrive in North Texas in the last days of July

DFW logged the coolest day in a week with a high of 95°. Clouds kept us with slightly below normal temperatures. It will be hotter on Monday.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Monday at noon to Tuesday, 7 p.m. The heat Index could hit 107°F.

Highs are forecast to hit triple digits by Tuesday. This could start a string of three days in a row of the hottest days so far this summer.

Over the last 30 years at DFW, this will mark only the fourth time we've waited this long into the season to finally log a 100-degree day. The heat shouldn't last long.

By Friday, the heat dome should slide west of us. This will allow a weak front to languish over North Texas.

Next weekend brings cooler days and slight rain chances.
