Temperature reaches record high days before Christmas in North Texas

Foggy morning ahead for North Texas before a warm Christmas Eve

For the second time in the last four days, DFW has logged a record high. Tuesday, it reached 82° at DFW, breaking the old record of 81° set almost 60 years ago.

Skies have cleared out on Tuesday night. We expect the radiational cooling to create a thick fog in places. Wednesday is a big travel day. If you are traveling east or southeast from the metroplex, there could be some visibility issues in the early morning.

The fog and morning clouds will keep temperatures out of the 80s for the only time this holiday work week. We are expecting near record highs on Christmas (forecasting the second warmest one ever) and a new record on Friday.

A cold front arrives early Sunday. This will make for a windy day with temperatures falling in the afternoon to the upper 50s. There is a small storm chance before the winds clear us out. Highs on Monday are only in the 40s as winter cold returns.
