Who left woman for dead in Texas park?

DALLAS - Authorities are trying to determine who attacked a woman in a Dallas, Texas park and left her for dead.

The victim, who is in her 50s, was in critical condition when she was transported to Baylor University Medical Center after two passers-by discovered her nude and on the ground in Opportunity Park.

Detectives are hoping the woman gets better so they can interview her and possibly develop a lead in the case, reports CBS DFW.

Sources told the station the unidentified victim isn't alert enough to talk with police and give them the information they need to find whoever hurt her.

Denisia Walton lives with her mother and two young daughters less than 10 yards away from Opportunity Park. She said knowing that a woman was beaten nearly to death, stripped of her clothes and left bloodied under trees has her frightened.

The fact that police have yet to announce any arrests or solid leads in their investigation has Walton more alert.

"I don't know what to think," she told the station. "Was it young kids? Was it an older person? Who would just do something like that?"

Neighbors who spoke to CBS DFW said that while they are horrified by what happened, they trust the police will get to the bottom of it.

While the unidentified victim heals, the clock is ticking for police who say they are at a standstill until they can speak to the woman.

Police won't say if the victim even lived in the general area of Opportunity Park. As of last check, the woman was in serious condition, reports the station.

Anyone with information is asked to call Dallas police.
