Watch: "How I Met Your Mother" sneak peek
We get a glimpse into the final season of CBS' "How I Met Your Mother" in a new promo clip released this week that addresses the "final high five" and the "final slap."
The show will be back on Sept. 23 for the season 9 premiere in an episode titled "The Locket and Coming Back." We watch as the gang makes their way to Long Island for the big wedding weekend. In the midst of it all, Robin (Cobie Smulders) and Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) come across a surprising family discovery.
Also in the hour-long premiere, Marshall (Jason Segel) sees something online that makes him change course, while his wife, Lily (Alyson Hannigan), talks to Ted (Josh Radnor) about finally letting go of Robin.
The mother, portrayed by Cristin Milioti, doesn't figure prominently in the promo, but "HIMYM" fans can expect to see a lot more of the woman with the umbrella as the season plays out.
