Time-lapse video captures the duality of a "city that never sleeps"
(CBS News) Even though night has set in on New York City, the city continues to be abuzz with lights, sounds and people. It's just the nature of this "city that never sleeps". And one which is perfectly captured in the hybrid time-lapse video above. Go ahead and take a look.
The unique Vimeo piece entitled "New York: Night and Day" (with sound by Noel Heroux) was created by Philip Stockton who writes:
A vibrant and fascinating exploration on the duality of time in the sprawling metropolis that is New York City. I filmed day and night scenes from around New York City and combined them back into single sequences using rotoscoping techniques. The piece explores the relationships between night and day, by compositing together scenes shot in the same location over a time period ranging from 4 - 8 hours. I hope you enjoy it.
