This Morning from CBS News, Sept. 15, 2015
Scorched earth
Violent wildfires in Northern California are threatening thousands of buildings. Flames have displaced about 23,000 people, charred around 750 homes and claimed one life already. The Valley Fire is being considered one of the most destructive in the state's history.
GOP race
The latest CBS News/New York Times poll shows Donald Trump still has frontrunner status among Republican primary voters, but Ben Carson is closing the gap. We've got the breakdown on who's backing who, and what's changing.
"Good trouble"
Can the Black Lives Matter movement advance an agenda? Advocates for civil rights reform don't always see eye to eye when it comes to legislating versus demonstrating, but backers of the movement sparked by an unarmed black teen's death say if you're not "ruffling some feathers," you're not getting anywhere.
Closed borders
The European migration crisis has entered a new stage as several nations rushed to tighten their borders and stem the flow of desperate refugees still pouring into the continent from Syria, Iraq and other conflict zones. Now there are signs that even Germany, which has taken in hundreds of thousands, may be struggling to get to grips with the influx.
Tomorrow's medicine
Scientists at Duke University are forging ahead with research they believe capable of revolutionizing treatment for people with severe disabilities. As part of "CBS This Morning's" "Pushing the Limits" series, we go inside the lab at Duke where Dr. Miguel Nicolelis and his team are attempting what others say is impossible.
Voting tech
Los Angeles County is home to the most voters in the country, but it uses balloting technology that's more than 50 years old. A team of developers in California has been working for two years on creating a new voting machine for the smart-phone era -- one that runs on a touchscreen-operated table, and crucially, one that can evolve.
Mayim Bialik
She's an actress, a cookbook writer and a scientist, but Mayim Bialik says her favorite role is "mom" to her two sons. Bialik is known to most, though, as Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler on "The Big Bang Theory," and she says she has enjoyed watching her character grow on the hit show, which returns to CBS on Sept. 21.
