(CBS News) While the news of the release date of Justin Bieber's new album "Believe" may have overshadowed last night's departures from "The Voice," things did still get pretty emotional.

SPOILER ALERT

Fans of the show were still in shock from the previous night's episode when Christina Aguilera booted off apparent frontrunner, Jesse Campbell.

Now, Aguilera was left to choose between Ashley De La Rosa and Lindsey Pavao. After Monday's show, Blake Shelton was left to choose between Erin Willett and RaeLynn.

De La Rosa sang Lady Gaga's "You and I" and received praise from most of the coaches. Even though Pavao had yet to take the stage, Shelton went as far as saying, "If I had a choice to buy Lindsey's record or Ashley's, I think I'd go buy Ashley's. I really would."

When Pavao performed Mike Posner's "Please Don't Go," she broke down at the end, leaving her coach Aguilera in tears, too. Cee Lo Green said her performance was "wonderful," but Shelton said he was still sticking with what he had said before.

Aguilera chose to save Pavao saying, "Your performance did make me cry."

After Justin Bieber announced that his album would drop June 19, Team Blake hit the stage with Willett belting out "Proud Mary." "I thought you put in an amazing effort," said Aguilera commending her spirit.

RaeLynn sang a country song, "If I Die Young," by the Band Perry. Adam Levine offered her some advice saying, "I would have curbed the inflection in your voice," but added "I think you're great.

In the end, Shelton ended up making a "rough" decision and saved Willett.

Next up are more performances from Team Adam and Team Cee Lo. "The Voice" airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT and Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
