Tenn. woman calls 911, reports fake shooting as part of April Fools' Day prank, report says

(CBS) KINGSPORT, Tenn. - A woman in Tennessee was arrested Monday after allegedly falsely reporting a shooting as part of an April Fools' Day prank, the Kingsport Times News reports.

According to the paper, the incident took place around noon Monday at a residence located on Union Hill Street in Kingsport, Tenn.

The woman, whose identity has not been released, was taken into custody by the Kingsport Police Dept. after allegedly making a false report to police, the paper says.

Authorities were able to determine that the 911 call was a prank shortly after arriving on scene.

As of Monday evening the investigation into the incident was still underway and no further details were immediately available.
