Stunning Spring and Summer Shoe Fashions

Most women love a fantastic pair of shoes.

Over the years, shoe heels have climbed as high as 10 inches (Alexander McQueen's infamous shoes from last fall's runway show), and women have sported such extreme looks as "Pretty Woman" thigh-high boots. And this season, according to Katrina Szish, "Early Show" Style Contributor, is no different. Szish explained on the broadcast Tuesday that shoe designers continue to push the envelope for spring and summer footwear. She says this season's shoes -- with strap, zipper and fringe features -- definitely have a "wow" effect.

Szish says designers have let loose with shoes designs this season -- the higher, the brighter, the more "out there" the better.

"Top trends include extreme platforms, updated clogs, cut-out summer booties, bold colors and unique heel construction," she said. "Stella McCartney even created a reinterpretation of the Birkenstock sandal -- with a stiletto heel! Nothing is off-limits this season."

Szish shared these looks for fashionistas at any price point:

FRINGE: BRUNO FRISONI
Fringe is all over handbags this season, but Bruno Frisoni brought it to shoes in a BIG way. The bright pink suede also taps into the color trend for summer. Pair with a graphic patterned top or dress to keep fresh and modern and to avoid looking too cowgirl-y.

Robert Rodriguez leggings, Zappos.com, $142.00

PLATFORM WEDGE: CASADEI
This season, the higher the shoe, the better!

$650, Casadei.com
French Connection dress, Zappos.com, $138.00

EMBELLISHED: GIUSEPPE ZANOTTI
Encrusted embellishments are amped up with these Giuseppe Zanotti yellow strappy sandals -- they look like they came straight from the candy store -- and in this case, they are pure eye candy. Pair with a form-fitting, brightly colored dress, and stay away from patterns, which are too busy when paired with the shoes.

Giuseppe Zanotti embellished heels, Zappos Couture, Couture.Zappos.com, $1,595.00
Three Dots dress, Zappos.com, $135.00

RUFFLES: BRUNO FRISONI
Ruffles were huge on the spring runways, and they are making a major statement on these dramatic evening sandals. The delicate peach shade balances the eye-catching, crinkled fabric details. Keep the rest of the ensemble simple -- it's all about the shoes when there's this much volume.

Bruno Frisoni heels, Neiman Marcus, $907.50
Gabriella Rocha dress, Zappos.com, $89.95

ELECTRIC HUE: JIMMY CHOO
These ultimate WOW Jimmy Choo shoes can literally light up a room (well, for 100 hours they can). The electric colors and light-up Lucite heels make these shoes half work of art, half fashion statement. When it comes to clothes, these shoes call for simple elegance with an edge -- an electric-hued feminine blouse and black shorts are the ultimate toppers.
