Southern California Serial Rapist: Police seek man they believe has raped as many as 30 women

Police are seeking this man, who they believe may have committed as many as 30 rapes over the past decade CBS Los Angeles

(CBS) - Police in Southern California are asking for help identifying a man they believe has raped and robbed at gunpoint as many as 30 women in day spas and massage parlors since 2003, reports CBS Los Angeles.

According to the Los Angeles Times, authorities call the man "extremely violent" and say that he targets immigrants and has threatened to kill his victims if they report their attacks.

"He is capable of great violence. Committing that against a woman, as a man, it's repulsive," said Aurello Melendrez from Riverside Police Department.

The Times reports that police have pieced together the case through DNA and video surveillance. The last reported case was in 2009, but officials say they suspect there more victims who have yet to come forward.
