Sean Hayes joins "The Millers" on CBS

"The Millers" will feature a new face when it returns in the fall.

Emmy Award-winning actor Sean Hayes has joined the cast of the CBS sitcom as a series regular. Hayes will portray Kip Withers, Carol Miller's (Margo Martindale) new best friend and a new source of friction for Carol's son, Nathan (Will Arnett).

Hayes is probably best known for his role as Jack McFarland on sitcom "Will & Grace." More recently, he starred in and executive produced the comedy series "Sean Saves the World." His film credits include "The Three Stooges," "The Bucket List" and "Pieces of April," opposite Katie Holmes, Patricia Clarkson and Oliver Platt.

"The Millers," which premiered last fall, also stars Beau Bridges and J.B. Smoove.

Last year, Bridges spoke with CBS News about his character: "Tom is a bit of a ditz. But he's got a good heart and I think down deep he loves his wife. They just haven't really communicated too well for a few years. And now they're getting to the point where they want to enjoy themselves. But I think down deep they really love each other."

The second season kicks off Oct. 30 on CBS.
