Sara Gilbert is pregnant

Sara Gilbert just made a big announcement on "The Talk" -- she's pregnant.

The actress and co-host of the CBS daytime talk show is expecting her first child with wife Linda Perry, she revealed Tuesday.

During the "Facing Your Fears" segment for the show's premiere week, Gilbert, 39, explained why she couldn't complete her dare of lying on a bed of nails and having a cinder block broken over her stomach.

"I really do believe in facing your fears and doing things that make you uncomfortable, but I actually can't do the dare because I'm pregnant," Gilbert said, fighting back tears.

"I feel good, I feel really good...at first I was really tired," she added.

The show and Gilbert's co-hosts were quick to share their excitement over the news via Twitter:

Gilbert -- who has two children from a previous relationship -- and Perry, 49, the former lead singer for 4 Non Blondes and a successful music producer, got engaged in April 2013 and tied the knot this past March. They've been together since 2011.
