Report: Jameis Winston caught shoplifting crab legs in Fla.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida State's Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Jameis Winston was reportedly issued a citation for shoplifting crab legs.

Tomahawk Nation reports that Winston was caught shoplifting at a Publix supermarket in Tallahassee.

"He got an adult civil citation," a police source told Tomahawk Nation. "If he completes the sanctions it will never show up on his record. They commonly give them to juveniles on first criminal offenses. They are now doing it for minor misdemeanors for adults to lower crime rate."

This is not the first run-in Winston has had with authorities. A woman accused the Florida State quarterback of sexually assaulting her in Dec. 2012, but the Florida State Attorney did not file charges against Winston citing a lack of evidence.

Winston's reported shoplifting citation comes two weeks after the NCAA approved an expanded meal allowances for all athletes.

Division I schools are now allowed to provide unlimited meals and snacks to all athletes, including walk-ons. The move came after Connecticut basketball guard Shabazz Napier complained during the Final Four that he sometimes went to bed "starving" because he couldn't afford food.

Schools were previously allowed to provide three meals per day, or a stipend for those meals, to scholarship athletes. The new rule now allows walk-ons to receive the same allowances and allows schools to provide more meals and snacks, too.
