Prince William and Kate step out for "African Cats" premiere
(CBS News) Just days before their one-year wedding anniversary, Prince William and Kate stepped out for a movie date.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the U.K. premiere of "African Cats" in London on Wednesday. The screening of the Disney documentary was to raise funds for the animal conservation charity Tusk Trust, of which William is patron.

William, 29, held an umbrella on the red carpet to protect his wife from the rain (they also needed an umbrella while attending the U.K. premiere of "War Horse" back in January, right before Kate's birthday).
Kate, 30, wore a gray peplum dress by Matthew Williamson, with colorful beaded detail at the neck and sleeves, according to the Telegraph. Her husband donned his standard dark suit and red tie.
Once out of the rain and inside the BFI Southbank, the duke and duchess met children and young adults from charities that have them as patrons, the Telegraph added.
This is the first time the royal couple has appeared in public since William returned from his military deployment to the Falkland Islands on March 21. He had been away for seven weeks. During that time, Kate made a number of public appearances and also gave her first solo speech.
William and Kate will mark their first wedding anniversary on Sunday, April 29, and reportedly plan to celebrate away from the spotlight. A St. James' Palace spokesman told Hello! magazine the pair will be spending the weekend privately.
