Police: 2 officers shot, suspect killed in shooting at Minn. city hall

MINNEAPOLIS -- Authorities say that two police officers were shot while leaving a city council meeting Monday night in suburban Minneapolis, and are now recovering, CBS Minnesota reports.

At 7 p.m. Monday, the meeting of the New Hope City Council started with two police officers being sworn in. At 7:15, as the officers were leaving, a male suspect opened fire at them, authorities told the station.

Two officers were hit and other law enforcement, who were also in attendance, opened fire on the shooter -- killing him, reports the CBS station.

It was not clear whether the two wounded officers were the ones who had just been sworn in.

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office told reporters that both officers that were injured are in good condition and are expected to recover.

Authorities say they are not looking for any other suspects, but the incident is still under investigation.
