Person of interest ID'd in Phila. murder of recent college grad

PHILADELPHIA -- Authorities are questioning a person of interest in the murder of Jasmine Wright, a 27-year-old recent graduate of Drexel University in Philadelphia.

Wright was found dead in her apartment on Thursday, July 16 after her father became worried after not being able to reach her and asked for an apartment attendant to check on her.

Authorities have said Wright was found dead on her bed and appeared to have been beaten and strangled. They added that there were no signs of forced entry into the home.

A spokesperson for the Philadelphia Police Department told 48 Hours' Crimesider on Monday that while a person of interest has been identified in the case, there have been no arrests made or charges filed.

Wright graduated earlier this year from Drexel University's School of Public Health. Neighbors described her as a quiet resident who had lived in the building for two years.
