(CBS/AP) BANGOR, Maine - Kyle Dube, a 20-year-old Maine man, has been charged with the murder of 15-year-old Nichole Cable, a high school student who has been missing since Mother's Day.

CBS affiliate WABI reported that authorities said Dube had turned himself in to police on May 17 for unrelated charges.

According to the girl's mother, Cable was last seen near her home before she went to meet Dube, whom she met through Facebook. Her mother did not know who Dube was.

Investigators found a body in the woods around 9:30 p.m. Monday and police believe it is the missing high-schooler.

State police spokesman Steve McCausland said the medical examiner's office is working to confirm the identity.

Authorities and hundreds of volunteers have been searching for the girl since her disappearance.
