New "Arrested Development" episodes coming, producer says

It looks like the Bluths could be coming back for more.

Two years after "Arrested Development" returned with new episodes on Netflix, the cult-hit comedy's executive producer says a fifth season is the works.

In an interview with Bill Simmons on "The B.S. Report," Brian Grazer said 17 new episodes are being planned.

"I love 'Arrested Development,' but it was never a huge thing," said Grazer. "But people are loyal to it. We're going to do another 17 episodes, so stay tuned for 'Arrested Development.'"

"Arrested Development," which followed the antics of the dysfunctional Bluth family, aired on Fox for three seasons from 2003-2006. Netflix revived the series six years later, releasing a 15-episode fourth season in 2013.

Grazer made no mention of Netflix in his comments, and the streaming service declined to comment on the prospect of new episodes, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "Everyone involved has expressed a desire to do more episodes, but we have nothing firm to announce at this time," added a rep for 20th Century Fox, which produces the series.

Still, Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos seems optimistic about the prospect of more "Arrested." "I honestly think it will happen," he told Entertainment Weekly recently. "[Series creator] Mitch Hurwitz is very excited about it. He has a great, great concept for the fifth season that the cast all loves."
