Natasha Freeman, Georgia woman, sentenced to wear "fool" sign at school bus stop
(CBS/AP) MACON, Ga. - A Georgia woman chose Monday to hold a "fool" sign in lieu of jail time for causing a disturbance on a school bus.
Judge Howard Simms gave 38-year-old Natasha Freeman the choice between spending four weekends in jail or holding a sign reading, "I made a fool out of myself on a Bibb County Public Schools bus," when he sentenced her on charges of battery and making terroristic threats.
Prosecutor Sandra Matson said Freeman went onto a school bus on April 4 and repeatedly struck her 11-year-old cousin and pulled the girl's hair. Freeman pleaded guilty to the charges and apologized during her court hearing in Bibb County Superior Court.
The Telegraph reported that Simms sentenced her to wear the sandwich-board-style sign at the bus stop from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. for one week starting Dec. 10.
