"Nashville" and "Arrow" win big in ratings

TV newcomers "Nashville" and "Arrow" made solid debuts Wednesday night, while NBC's "Animal Practice's" ratings dropped.

ABC's new country-music drama, which premiered at 10 p.m. earned a 2.8 rating with adults 18-49 and 8.9 million viewers, winning its timeslot, and coming in second for the night behind "X Factor's" 9.4 million viewers, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The network's two episodes of "Modern Family" earned a 4.7 and 4.9 rating and its new series "The Neighbors" was even with its previous performance, reports THR.

CBS' "Survivor" was down 13 percent and on NBC "Animal Practice" fell 15 percent from last week. NBC's series premiere of "Chicago Fire" at 10 p.m. earned a 1.9 rating in the demographic, according to the site.

On the CW, "Arrow" had the network's best premiere since "The Vampire Diaries" pulling in a 1.3 rating with adults 18-49 and 4. 02 million viewers.
