Mistie Atkinson, woman accused of having sex with estranged teenage son, strikes plea deal

(CBS) -  Mistie Atkinson, a 32-year-old California woman accused of having sex with her estranged teenage son, pleaded no contest on Tuesday to incest and other felonies in Napa County Superior Court.

Atkinson reportedly faces four years and eight months in state prison under a plea deal but she could be released in only two years and four months with credit for good behavior.

According to the Napa Valley Register, Atkinson pleaded no contest to incest, oral copulation with a minor, contact with a minor for sexual offense and sending harmful matter to the teen.

A law enforcement source previously told the New York Daily News that Atkinson had not had contact with her now 16-year-old son for 15 years. But she contacted him last year through Facebook.

Court documents show that Atkinson was arrested on a warrant in March in after she was found in a hotel room with her biological son, the Register reports.

Napa police, in a court filing, say videos from the boy's phone, dated Feb. 3 and Feb. 4, show Atkins allegedly performing oral sex and engaging in sexual intercourse with the boy, the Register reports. Authorities say Atkinson also may have sent explicit images of herself to the boy electronically.

Court records reportedly reveal that the boy's father, who has full custody, has obtained a restraining order against Atkinson.
