Mike Riera
The Saturday Early Show's adolescence and family counselorcolor>

Rieracolor> is a best-selling author, award winning columnist, educator, television co-host, and national speaker on issues of adolescence, families, and parenting. Mike is the author of Field Guide to the American Teenager (September 2000), Uncommon Sense For Parents With Teenagers (1995), and Surviving High School (1997).

Besides his work as an Adolescent Adviser for CBS News's the The Saturday Morning Early Show, Dr. Riera also hosts Life in Progress on Trackers, a daily show designed for teenagers by Oxygen Media. He is a frequent guest on news and talk shows, including: Oprah Winfrey, 48 Hours, The Today Show, The View, and NPR Radio. He is also a partner in The Diary Project, an online forum for teenagers.

Prior to his media career, Mike worked in schools for 19 years as a counselor, dean of students, teacher, and consultant.
