McCain Campaign Blasts Pelosi And Reid

As Crypt colleague Ben Smith notes, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid were the focus of a new round of attacks from John McCain and Sarah Palin Monday, as Republicans sought to warn of the dangers of one-party rule.

“My opponent is out there working out the details with Speaker Pelosi and Senator Harry Reid, their plan's to raise your taxes, increase spending and concede defeat in Iraq," McCain said at a rally in Cleveland. "We're not going to let that happen."

"You can imagine Obama, Reid and Pelosi," said McCain. "Tax and spend, tax and spend."

Palin also hammered home the message at a rally Monday morning in Virginia.

"If big government spenders control the House and Senate and, heaven forbid, the White House, they will have a monopoly of power," she said.

Even Democratic Rep. Barney Frank made his way into Palin’s stump speech.

Speaking at a rally in Iowa over the weekend, Palin warned that people like “Uncle Barney Frank” would have “unchecked powers" if "liberal-leaning, bigger government persons” were in charge.
