Marg Helgenberger to return for "CSI" 300th episode

"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" is bringing back a familiar face to celebrate a big milestone.

Marg Helgenberger will return as forensic scientist Catherine Willows for the CBS crime drama's 300th episode, to help the team solve a cold case that's eluded them for more than a decade.

According to the network, the episode will involve the investigation into a homicide in the home of a reclusive former casino mogul who was a suspect in a similar crime in 2000.

Helgenberger said goodbye to "CSI" last year after 12 seasons on the show. Her last episode, "Willows in the Wind," aired on Jan. 25, 2012.

"CSI" returns for its 14th season on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 10 p.m. ET. The 300th episode will air Oct. 23.
