(CBS) SANTA ANA, Calif. - Police arrested a man Tuesday night at a California airport after passengers said they had to tackle him  for behaving aggressively and grabbing women during a flight from Chicago to Orange County's John Wayne Airport, CBS Chicago reports.

Passengers reportedly restrained actor and model Arash "Ash" Durrani with a belt to stop him from scaring passengers on United Flight 473. The 26-year-old was restrained until he was taken into custody on a federal offense of interference with a flight crew.

Passengers said 45 minutes into the flight, Durrani started pacing the aisle, apparently drunk, and was harassing people.

"He actually verbally threatened another passenger," said passenger Vicki Manning. "All the passenger had said to him was, 'You know, you need to sit down.' "

Six passengers jumped into action and held Durrani down with their belts for nearly three hours, CBS Chicago reported. The plane landed as scheduled as Orange County sheriffs took him away in handcuffs.

According to CBS Chicago, Durrani used to live in Orange County, Calif. but now resides in Virginia. He was returning to Orange County to face a court appearance that was scheduled for Thursday morning.
