FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (CBS/AP) Things are going from bad to worse for Kayla Manson, the 13-year-old girl charged in connection with the brutal attack on Florida teen Josie Lou Ratley.

Thursday, she appeared on the "Today Show" and dropped the "C" bomb twice as she recalled the vile text messages her boyfriend Wayne Treacy allegedly sent to Ratley before police say he stomped her with steel-toed boots.

Manson remembered "the one where she calls him a rapist and...the one where he calls her a c**t."

"We just have to be careful with our language, but that's all right, sweetheart," a somewhat stunned Meredith Vieira replied back.

Manson says she did not recall any messages where Treacy allegedly threatened to kill the 15-year-old, who was left with permanent brain damage from the attack. She also claimed she believed Treacy was planning to yell at Ratley, but had no knowledge of the attack and didn't see it happen.

Police view it differently.

They say Treacy was enraged that Ratley was trying to meddle in his affairs. Authorities say Treacy went to Deerfield Beach Middle School and got Manson to help him find Ratley, who he then allegedly beat within an inch of her life.

Ratley was left in critical condition and after a long rehabilitation was able to return home to her family, but is seriously disabled. She still cannot walk, talk, user her right arm or move her fingers.

Prosecutors have charged Treacy with premeditated attempted murder and Manson with accessory to first degree murder.
