(CBS News) Opera singer Katherine Jenkins reportedly suffered a concussion while rehearsing for "Dancing with the Stars" last week, but isn't letting the injury get her down.

The Welsh opera singer got hurt Thursday when partner Mark Ballas' knee slammed into her head during rehearsals, according to Britain's The Sun, leaving her "feeling sick with a throbbing head."

But the 31-year-old was able to step out the next day and sing at a BritWeek gala dinner in Los Angeles, the Express reports.

"I'm a tough Welsh girl and I just got on with it," Jenkins said, according to the Sun. "I felt awful but I was determined to carry on and do my best for the next show."

Jenkins and Ballas earned 9s from each of the judges for their rumba last week.

This week, each "DWTS" couple will pick an eliminated troupe member or pro to dance with in a "Trio Challenge." There will also be a double elimination on Tuesday.
