Justin Bieber: Why I cried at the VMAs

So, why did Justin Bieber get so emotional at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday? Turns out, there were a few reasons.

After the 21-year-old pop singer's performance, he could be seen holding his head in his hands and crying. In the end, the Biebs was simply overcome with emotion following a performance that received accolades from the crowd.

On Wednesday, Bieber told Jimmy Fallon, "It was just so overwhelming for me, just the performance, Bieber said. "I missed some cues so I was a little disappointed at that ... Just the support. I wasn't expecting them to support me in the way they did ... Last time I was at an awards show I was booed."

"I've worked so hard at at just becoming the man I want to become and then, like, stepping into situations you just can't help but feel judged," Bieber said during his visit to "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon."

The Canadian pop star admitted he had put everything on the line, adding that his emotional reaction at the VMAs was authentic. "It was real," he said. "I was really just wanting it so bad."

Bieber's new album will be out on Nov. 13.
