Jon Stewart, Sting to salute Springsteen as MusiCares Person of the Year

Jon Stewart, Sting, Mumford & Sons and Elton John are among the stars who will salute Bruce Springsteen in February.

The Recording Academy announced Wednesday that Stewart, host of Comedy Central's "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart," will host the Feb. 8 MusiCares tribute to Springsteen, chosen as its Person of the Year.

Elton John, Neil Young, Mumford & Sons, Sting, Mavis Staples and Kenny Chesney will be among more than a dozen performers at the Feb. 8 benefit concert, held in Los Angeles as part of Grammy Week celebrations. The Grammy Awards take place two days after the tribute concert.

Other performers scheduled to appear include Juanes, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Jackson Browne and Alabama Shakes.

Springsteen is MusiCare's Person of the Year, an award given to a performer who is notable both artistically and philanthropically. The sold-out concert will benefit MusiCare's emergency financial assistance and addiction recovery programs.

Last year's recipient was Paul McCartney. Previous honorees include Tony Bennett, Barbra Streisand, Billy Joel and Paul Simon.
