Jenna Jameson, former porn star, accused of battery in Calif., police say

(CBS) BALBOA BEACH, Calif. - Police say former porn star Jenna Jameson is accused of battery over the weekend, according to  CBS Los Angeles.

Officials said the alleged victim placed Jameson under citizen's arrest until police arrived at the Balboa Beach residence where the battery allegedly occurred. 

Police were called to the home around 7:50 p.m. on Saturday, according to Newport Beach Police Lt. Evan Sailor, the station reports.

No word was given on the alleged victim's condition.

The arrest was first reported by TMZ. According to the website, Jameson had been planning on attending an early birthday celebration at the Heat Ultra Lounge in Anaheim. It was not reported if Jameson - whose birthday is April 9 - was able to attend the party.

Jameson was released from the Newport Beach Police Department jail on her own recognizance, police said. She will be assigned a court date if prosecutors find enough evidence to officially charge her, according to the LA Times.

Jameson was arrested last May for a DUI after crashing her car into a light pole in Southern California. She pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to three years of informal probation.
