Internet Post Claims Plot to Assassinate Bush during Visit to Saudi Leaked

(al Ekhlaas )
A message posted on the militant Islamist website of al Ekhlaas claims that a "jihadi intelligence officer"
has been made aware of a plan to assassinate President George W. Bush during his upcoming visit to Saudi Arabia.

Although the message was posted on a popular jihadi website, it is difficult to verify the credibility or seriousness of the threat. It is not unusual for jihadi Internet forum members, who are sympathizers but often have no real connections to terrorist groups, to make such claims.

"A brother from the jihadi Intelligence community was told that Bush's much anticipated visit to Saudi Arabia will be unlike any of his previous visits," the message said. The alleged intelligence officer claimed that a cell made of a group of al Qaeda sympathizers in the Gulf who received sniper training at a specialized center in a Western country, is eagerly anticipating Bush's upcoming visit.
