How to travel "like a local"

(CBS News) Most of us have a certain routine when visiting a place we've never been: We buy a guidebook or hire a tour guide, and ask the hotel concierge where to go for dinner.

Greenberg has just published five new guidebooks in a special Michelin series called "Like a Local" with that mantra in mind. On "CBS This Morning," Monday he shared some of the ways that he urges people to move away from the beaten tourist path, from who to talk to when you arrive to the best time to experience iconic monuments.

Watch all of his suggestions in the video above.
