Houston women found dead near dumpster; man sought

HOUSTON, Texas - Police are searching for a man they would like to question in the deaths of two young Houston women whose bodies were found next to a dumpster in Port Bolivar, Texas early Friday, reports CBS affiliate KHOU.

An autopsy conducted by the Galveston County Medical Examiner's Office found one woman was beaten to death and the other shot, reports the Houston Chronicle.

Britney Crosby, 24, died from blunt force trauma to the head and Crystal Jackson, also 24, died from a gunshot wound, Galveston County Sheriff's Maj. Darrell Isaaks said Tuesday, according to the paper.

Isaaks reportedly declined to say where Jackson was shot, saying release of the information might impede the investigation.

A beer deliveryman found the women's bodies around 7:30 a.m. Friday when he went to take out the trash.

Detectives believe the women, who were said to be in a relationship, were killed somewhere in Houston and then left by the dumpster outside the Fisherman's Cove convenience store in Port Bolivar, reports KHOU. Port Bolivar is about 60 miles southeast of Houston.

The victims' vehicle, a 2006 silver Kia SUV, is missing along with their purses and identification.

Investigators have released a sketch of a man seen with the victims in their vehicle prior to their deaths. They are hoping to identify the man and question him in connection with the case.
