(CBS/CBS Houston) HOUSTON - Authorities are now searching for a 14-year-old Texas girl who is believed to be with a 33-year-old male neighbor with whom she is romantically involved.

An Amber Alert was issued Tuesday afternoon for Haylie White, who was reportedly taken from her uncle's north Harris County home that day by neighbor Jacob West, according to CBS affiliate KHOU.

"We were up most of the night hoping to get a phone call," said the girl's uncle, Dana Nixon, told KHOU. "The longer it goes, the more concerned we get."

Nixon told the station White moved into his home last week because her family was trying to keep her away from West, who lives next door to her mother.

"We basically told him she was moving in here, we did not want him in the picture, it was inappropriate," said Nixon.

Authorities say West ignored the family's requests and continued to pursue the teen girl. Tuesday afternoon she was taking a walk with family and jumped into his car.

"She hopped in the guy's truck and took off," said Nixon. "I think he is manipulating her."

The teen's mother, Jan Nixon, told ABC affiliate KTRK that Haylie stopped answering her phone and erased her Facebook profile.

Haylie is approximately five feet tall and 120 pounds with short brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a tie-die shirt and blue jeans.

West is a white males, approximately six feet two inches tall and 220 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He was driving a 2005 silver GMC Envoy with Texas License Plate #AT42749.
