Half The Weatherman He Used To Be

Obesity is the second leading cause of preventable death in the United States. Although it's recognized, it as a neglected public health problem; there is no shortage of popular diets and gimmicks aimed at helping people lose weight.

In a two-part series on The Early Show, weatherman Dave Price shares his personal battle with weight gain and how he succeeded -- not with fad diets or fancy gym equipment, but with the motivation to live a healthier lifestyle.

Before Price became a popular weatherman in the television world, he was a frustrated, severely overweight human resources manager at Taco Bell headquarters in Irvine, Calif.

Price, along with some of his friends and former co-workers, discusses how his bad eating habits and lack of exercise combined with job pressure to push him along the road to obesity. He also talks about how the corporate health program at the University of California, Irvine helped teach him ways to change his eating habits, his attitude and, ultimately, his life.

In an effort to help others struggling with weight loss see that they, too, can live a healthier, happier lifestyle, Price reveals the time-tested principles he used to work his way back to a normal, healthy weight and how he has maintained it for the past eight years -- on a steady diet of willpower and determination.
