"Girls" debuts new season 3 trailer

HBO is giving "Girls" fans an early Christmas present, in the form of a new trailer for the show's third season.

In the clip, Hannah (Lena Dunham) gets a bit philosophical, saying, "Everything that's been so terrible and painful in the past few months was leading me to this point."

She also appears to have a successful meeting with a publisher and to still be happily together with Adam (Adam Driver). Meanwhile, Marnie (Allison Williams) is dealing with a breakup and Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) marvels at how little her friends have accomplished in the four years since finishing college.

"Girls" returns with two back-to-back episodes Jan. 12 on HBO.
