Online sales drive bolsters Girl Scout wounded by bullet

INDIANAPOLIS - An Indianapolis Girl Scout who was shot in the leg as she headed to a meeting to pick up cookies is expected to be a top seller thanks to an online drive.

Nine-year-old Sinai Miller was outside her family's apartment on Feb. 4 when she was shot in the left calf.

The shooting ended her plans to sell cookies door to door. So Girl Scouts of Central Indiana launched an online sales drive called "Cookies for Sinai."

Scouting officials won't say how many boxes Sinai has sold, but CEO Deborah Hearn Smith tells The Indianapolis Star that the Scouts needed help from volunteers at Amazon to get them delivered.

Smith says Sinai and her troop plan to use the proceeds to take a fun, educational trip.
