Girl Scout fans rejoice! Your favorite cookies are about to become cereals

For many Americans, there is simply nothing more enjoyable than tearing through a box of Thin Mints when Girl Scout Cookie season rolls around. But come January 2017, there may be something even better: Girl Scout Cookie-inspired cereals.

That’s right. Soon, you’ll be able to indulge in your favorite guilty pleasure... for breakfast.

“The Girl Scouts Cookie cereals will be available nationwide in January,” confirms Mike Siemienas, Manager of Brand Media Relations for General Mills.

General Mills, however, is staying tight-lipped about all other details, promising to release additional information closer to the products’ launch date. In the meantime, here is what we know:

1) The sweetened whole grain corn cereals will only be available for a limited time.

2) They will come in two varieties: Caramel Crunch (derived from Caramel deLites, a.k.a. Samoas) and Thin Mints (derived from the popular cookie of the same name).

3) Twitter nation cannot contain its excitement.

If Twitter user @WillieCooley is right, people may very well have been indulging in bowls of Thin Mints and milk for years. But hey, at least now it’ll be socially acceptable.
