(CBS/AP) NEW YORK - Police have charged a 27-year-old man with the murder of his mother's boyfriend. The remains were found buried in the victim's Queens, New York backyard Tuesday.

Police have identified the remains as Frank Soucie, 60. He was last seen April 22 and reported missing by his girlfriend, Stephanie Verni, on April 28, reported 1010 WINS.

Soucie's body was found Tuesday in a shallow grave behind his home, according to CBS affiliate WCBS.

Police said Derek Tudor, Verni's son, showed up at court and confessed to the crime while weeping, the station reports. He allegedly said he suffocated Soucie.

1010 WINS reports Tudor had been living with the couple and he has a number arrests on his record, including fare beating and forcible touching.

The cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner's office.
