PEARLAND, Texas - Former Major League Baseball player Darryl Quinn Hamilton was killed in an apparent murder-suicide over the weekend, according to police in Pearland, Texas.

CBS affiliate KHOU reports that Hamilton, 50, and his 44-year-old girlfriend Monica Jordan were found dead Sunday afternoon in their home.

Police said it appeared Hamilton suffered several gunshot wounds and Jordan died from a self-inflicted shot.

Police were called to the house just before 5 p.m. Sunday after a neighbor heard a loud argument in the home, according to KHOU.

When officers got there minutes later, they found the two bodies. Police said they recovered a gun they believe was used in the incident.

Hamilton and Jordan's 14-month-old baby was home at the time, but was unharmed, police said.

Hamilton played outfield in the Major League for 13 years. He spent his first seven seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers, then played for the Texas Rangers, San Francisco Giants, Colorado Rockies and New York Mets.

Hamilton went on to work as an analyst for the MLB Network.
