Florida teen, 15, accused of killing his mother

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. - A 15-year-old southwest Florida boy is charged with killing his mother.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office investigators found the body of 42-year-old Tamara Jean Davis on Sunday after neighbors reported a horrible odor coming from her North Fort Myers house. She had been reported missing on Aug. 24.

Neighbors told the News-Press of Fort Myers that the smell had been getting worse over the past two weeks.

Investigators arrested the son, who is not being identified because of his age. He is being held in a juvenile detention facility pending a hearing on Sept. 18.

A man claiming to be Davis' husband told CBS affiliate WINK that the teen, who is reportedly not his biological son, confessed to the crime.

Sheriff's officials spent much of Monday at the family's home gathering evidence.
