(CBS) CHICAGO - Dioscoro Flores, a male nurse in Chicago, is accused of sexually abusing a quadriplegic Army veteran who is unable to speak, reports the Chicago Tribune.

Prosecutors say Flores, 39, abused the 24-year-old veteran on two occasions between July 4 and Aug. 6 in the alleged victim's bedroom inside the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, according to the paper.

The victim, whose name has not been released, reportedly alerted his father to what was going on by using eye motions and a "spell board."

An internal investigation was subsequently launched and Flores was arrested last week and charged with felony aggravated criminal sexual abuse. He bail was set at $50,000, reports the paper.

The victim reportedly did a tour of duty in Afghanistan from June of 2011 until August of 2012. His father told the paper his son suffered an injury in May that that left him with quadriplegia.
